REMINDER: Flood Meeting Tonight at 6 pm (Eagles Center)
Date: Wednesday, Feb. 23
Time: 6:00 to 7:00 PM
Place: The Eagles Center, 3502 S. University Dr.
This meeting will be to discuss the clay levee construction for what we hope is our last flood fight in Timberline and other items related to this year’s flood fight.
Just a reminder that we just need to collect a few more right to enter forms and we will be good to proceed.
There have been a couple questions about the stakes from Houston Engineering – those that are the closest to your homes, from my understanding, are considered the extreme extent of the clear zone for trees when the final levee is built next summer. Certainly, existing trees that are close to these stakes will be looked at, closer to the permanent levee construction time next summer. Needless to say that if any trees are moved or new plantings, nothing should be placed past those stakes.
Please call with any questions and I will try to get them answered as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Dave Helland

Anyone else concerned about the height of the temp dike? Wow.
Hi Kristi,
I believe it is at 44′ or is it higher on your side? Thanks.
Michael
Should we be monitoring dikes yet? I noticed from Wayne’s, Winnie’s and our backyard, that the dikes are holding in lots of water/melt. Do you know if we are supposed to let the city know this?
Hi Kristi,
It probably wouldn’t hurt to call or e-mail Dave Halland to see if the water should be pumped out if it is really bad.
Thanks.
Michael
The city of Fargo has established a hotline for residents living along the primary line of flood protection.
Residents with levees in their backyards who have concerns or see water pooling on the protected side of the levee are asked to call (701) 476-4199.
