Sandbagging is Completed!

With the help of hundreds of students, which we are very thankful for, we were able to get all of the sandbagging completed around 11:30 am today.  The only task remaining is to tie in the clay dikes to the sandbag dikes which Strata has been hired to do (they should have this completed today).

We now just have to sit and watch the water rise.  Thanks again to all of the volunteers that helped this year – we really couldn’t do this without your help!  Also, the food this year was outstanding so a very big thanks to the people that donated their time and resources to providing food to our hundreds of sandbaggers.

Just heard from my sister and Peggy Mausbach that our backyard and volunteers are on the front page of today’s Star Tribune….will share with rest of you when I get it!

    A note from Roger Fenstad

Just want to give a special thanks to Rory Kiland, his operators, Jeff Laven, Bruce Heysse and his daughter, Mike Neustel, & Todd Gierke who went around and cleaned up the garbage, broken sandbags, plywood and pallets in the yards where the dikes are to help eliminate some of the mess. The National Guard also helped remove some of the plywood.

Thanks to everyone for the help with the sandbagging and especially the high school and middle school students. Without their help we would still be working on it.
