Dike Inspection Results (Saturday Inspection)
We finished inspecting the entire dike this morning. The HESCOs and sandbag portions of the dike look very good. There are a few areas of the HESCOs and sandbag portions that require repairs, but nothing major. We will announce a day/time to get about 20-30 volunteers to repair the HESCO/sandbag portions of the dike.
Having said the above, the south clay dike (by Mahoney’s house) had a very significant depression in the middle (approximately a 3 foot drop throughout the middle). The City of Fargo will be adding more clay to the backside of the south clay dike to build it back up to 43 feet. The north clay dike is in very good shape with little damage from the flood.
