UPDATE: March 2, 2010 Neighborhood Meeting with City
For those of you who could not attend the March 2nd meeting with the City of Fargo, you can view a PDF of the City’s presentation at http://media.cityoffargo.com/download/download.aspx?FileID=64. The presentation was very informative and laid out how the City of Fargo intends to protect the City and Timberline. Everyone appears to feel confident in the City’s planning.
CLAY DIKE ON SOUTH SIDE. One important decision by the City was to place a clay dike along the entire south side of Timberline along the bike path instead of using Heskos/sandbags.
SANDBAG DIKE ON EAST SIDE. However, the City has decided to not use Heskos along the east side of Timberline and instead we will have to build a sandbag dike along most of the east side (except for the coulee crossings which will have clay dikes similar to last year). This will require us to put in place a lot more sandbags than we did last year, but because of the uneven terrain the sandbag dike will be a lot stronger.
